Dr. Aditi Das is a seasoned researcher with 12 years of professional experience. Aditi is passionate about applying her cross-cultural research experience, diverse methodological expertise, and strong analytical and communication skills to address issues of equity, access, and inclusion in social service delivery. At RDA, Aditi provides key analytic and facilitation support to a variety of projects across the human services spectrum. Prior to RDA, Aditi worked as a researcher at the University of California, Berkeley School of Social Welfare, where her research focused on strengthening upstream human service delivery for vulnerable children, youth, and families while assessing sustainability of reform efforts within complex human service organizations.

Alison Hamburg

Consulting Manager

Alison is a seasoned consultant with 15 years of experience in mixed-methods research, evaluation, and planning. Alison is dedicated to strengthening the capacity of local organizations to develop programs and policies that advance social and racial justice. Alison is committed to participatory projects that involve local residents and build on community assets. At RDA, Alison values a collaborative and empathetic approach to supporting clients and colleagues alike. Alison is the co-chair of RDA’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. Prior to joining RDA, Alison carried out a variety of evaluation and planning projects as a consultant with government and nonprofit agencies across the public health, housing, education, and community development sectors. Before entering the consulting field, Alison worked in a direct service organization for persons with HIV/AIDS in San Francisco.

Amalia Egri Freedman

Senior Director of Consulting Services

Amalia Egri Freedman brings over two decades of experience in project and program management for and with government agencies, non-profit organizations, and private companies, with deep experience in supporting multi-functional teams to work effectively in complex systems. She is passionate about the role of government and their partners to create opportunities for individuals and communities to thrive. A skilled facilitator, Amalia’s approach is rooted in working to understand both organizational and stakeholder objectives, and creating a space where participants can join to align their various needs into common objectives. As Senior Director of Consulting Services at RDA, she provides strategic direction to RDA engagements, with an emphasis on facilitation and strategic planning efforts. Amalia has served in project management capacities in evaluation, strategic planning, organizational development and grant writing, in domains as varied as criminal justice, health services, education, transportation, and high tech; she is accustomed to rapidly engaging in technical environments and moving teams and projects forward effectively. Prior to joining RDA, she managed software initiatives to serve government clients; led an emerging practice delivering community engagement programs for Booz Allen Hamilton; and served as a legislative aide. Amalia currently serves on the School Site Council at Commodore Sloat Elementary in San Francisco, and is a member of the Technology of Participation Facilitators Network.

Amy Arthur

Senior Business Development Associate

Amy Arthur brings 11 years of experience in competitive proposal development, nonprofit fund development, literary editing, and higher education. As Senior Business Development Associate at RDA, Amy utilizes her unique skill set to enhance organizational sustainability and growth by supporting the competitive proposal development process. Additionally, Ms. Arthur drafts, supports, and finalizes grant proposals for clients who utilize RDA’s grant writing services and provides grant writing capacity building services for governmental and nonprofit agencies. Prior to joining RDA, Amy managed fundraising and communications for Rebuilding Together San Francisco, a direct-service nonprofit committed to building community resiliency and empowering San Francisco’s low-income residents to age in place as stakeholders in their communities. Previously, she worked as a member of the development and communications team for New Orleans Area Habitat for Humanity (NOAHH). In her time with NOAHH, she led the way in encouraging the organization to think of housing within a broader context of human need and in connecting the organization’s work to relevant research. Her work with NOAHH included developing winning proposals both for property acquisition and funding for new construction and critical home repair.

Cesángari López-Martínez

Consultant

Cesángari López-Martínez is a talented researcher with seven years of experience in impact evaluation, experimental and quasi-experimental design, policy analysis, presentation of data findings and evaluation strategies, and grant research and management. At RDA, Cesángari provides analytic support to a variety of justice projects spanning juvenile justice system coordination, pretrial diversion research, reentry supports, and community policing impacts. She also supports many projects at the intersection of justice and behavioral health, such as Proposition 47 and Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) evaluations. Prior to joining RDA, Cesángari worked as a Program Manager at the Stanford Poverty, Violence, and Governance Lab, where she supported projects involving gang prevention, police-community relations, and police analyst training in Mexico.

David Klauber

Senior Consultant

David Klauber brings more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector providing both direct and indirect services for under-served youth experiencing displacement, homelessness, trafficking, and mental health challenges. His experience working across sectors and organizations, from small grassroots organizations to large international nonprofits, equips him with a multi-dimensional understanding of the challenges faced by individuals at the intersection of multiple systems. Having built a keen understanding of the multitude of overlaid challenges that face direct service providers and consumers of support services, he joined RDA to translate his passion for working with under-served young people to a system-level approach. At RDA, David is an engaging facilitator who has worked extensively with decision-making entities across sectors to support planning, implementation, governance structures, and board capacity development. He has led projects with city government oversight committees, education consortium steering committees, community action partnership and nonprofit boards, and citizen review panels.  Prior to joining RDA, he provided mental health services for young people, mobile case management for transition-age foster youth within transitional housing programs, and community-based afterschool programs for children and adolescents.

Debbie Mayer

Consulting Manager

Debbie Mayer has over ten years of experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research for public agencies, social policy research institutions, and community-based organizations, focusing on a variety of criminal justice issues including probation practices, diversion programs, reentry supports, and violence prevention efforts. Debbie uses her research and evaluation skills to amplify the voices of individuals and communities most impacted by the criminal justice system to support meaningful criminal justice reform. At RDA, Debbie works as an evaluator, planner, researcher, and technical assistance provider on a variety of criminal justice projects. Prior to joining RDA, as part of the Urban Institute’s Transition from Jail to Reentry initiative, Ms. Mayer provided technical assistance to jail staff and social service providers to implement data and evaluation processes to improve jail-to-community transitions. Debbie’s earlier professional experiences include direct service work in a New York City supportive housing residence and supporting a randomized controlled trial evaluating microfinance liability structures in Peru.

Deirel Marquez Perez

Associate

Deirel Marquez Perez is a skilled facilitator with considerable experience conducting outreach and engagement with diverse Bay Area stakeholders. She is passionate about economic and racial justice through cross-sector collaboration. At RDA,  Deirel supports projects by developing tools and materials, conducting research and literature reviews, conducting data collection and analysis, developing deliverables, and handling administrative and logistical necessities. Prior to joining RDA, Deirel worked as a policy associate at the Center for Responsible Lending, where she conducted extensive community outreach to support the launch of a California state campaign targeting predatory lending. Previously, as a fellow at the San Francisco Office of Civic Engagement and Immigrant Affairs, Deirel coordinated with multiple community-based organizations to conduct targeted outreach and education to San Francisco immigrant residents on financial capability services, products, and fraud prevention.

Diana Dahl

Director of Business Development and Marketing

Diana Dahl is a strategic leader with 17 years of experience that has concentrated on business development, grant writing, and other fundraising; organizational strategy and capacity building; and program design and evaluation.  She is passionate about the power of transformational leadership, effective communication and collaboration, and ethical decision-making in the success of programs, organizations, and larger social, political, and economic systems. As Director of Business Development and Marketing at RDA, Diana enhances organizational sustainability and growth through data-driven decision-making that allows freedom to take reasonable risks required for innovation, an intentional balance of supporting yet challenging institutional systems, and consistent questioning as a primary tool to propel dynamic improvements. Since joining RDA in 2017, proposal development to secure new contracts has doubled while its award rate has increased, solidifying RDA’s ability to achieve its mission. Diana also oversees RDA’s grant writing services for clients and serves on RDA’s Executive Team, contributing to business strategy, operations, and employee well-being.  Prior to RDA, Diana established a proven track record of award-winning programs, organizational expansions, and thriving resource acquisition. For example, within four years of development work in Philadelphia, Diana secured over $25 million to advance academic programs and school operations. As Executive Director of a medical foundation in Colorado, she visioned and launched a new annual fundraising event that has sold out every year, and she collaborated with other local leaders to acquire the largest mental health grant ever awarded in the county. Diana has been a member of the Grant Professionals Association and the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a Board Member for several nonprofits.

Emma Schifsky

Associate

Emma Schifsky is an experienced researcher who is committed to meaningfully engaging diverse stakeholders and amplifying their voices to advance social change. Emma is passionate about translating mixed-methods research into programmatic strategies that advance equity. At RDA, she utilizes her research skills to contribute to a variety of program evaluation and needs assessment projects in the human service and behavioral health sectors. Prior to RDA, as an Urban Leaders Fellow, she worked with the Oakland Office of the Mayor to examine the relationship between charter and district schools as part of an effort to more equitably serve Oakland students, and with First 5 Alameda County to develop survey tools to support the evaluation of the Neighborhoods Ready for School program. Previously, as trained as a neuroscientist, she examined the relationship between maternal stress and diet and subsequent childhood cognition and emotional regulation. In addition, she has conducted clinical work with older adults and adults with disabilities as well as opiate-dependent patients.

Erin Chalk

Senior Executive Assistant

Erin Chalk brings over 20 years of administrative support expertise established through her work with an array of organizations in the nonprofit, environmental, hospitality, marketing, and tech sectors. Erin is skilled in collaborating with colleagues, engaging with Board Members, event planning, project management, and providing unparalleled organizational support. Her interest in social and environmental justice, child welfare, and health have been key motivators in her personal and professional development. As Senior Executive Assistant at RDA, Erin provides key administrative support to RDA’s executive team, oversees facilities and office management, and supports a variety of other operational needs. Prior to RDA, she served as Executive Assistant and Board Liaison for the Aquarium of the Bay and as Assistant to the CEO at Insight Editions.

Gina Martinez 

Senior Consultant

Dr. Gina Martinez is a social impact researcher with 11 years of experience focused on the intersection of community needs and public policy. She is passionate about supporting communities, youth in particular, through data-driven and evidence-based social change. With a background in academia, Gina has expertise in advanced research methods and design, as well as quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques. At RDA, she works on a variety of projects, primarily in behavioral health, ensuring the work meets the needs of the communities being served while maintaining methodological rigor. Gina’s recent work includes analyzing complex data across multiple agencies to create reports for the AOT programs of Contra Costa and Orange Counties, and leading a Santa Clara County feasibility study on the expansion of school-based behavioral health services. Prior to working at RDA and after completing a Provost Postdoctoral Fellowship at Duke University, Gina assessed the early education needs of cities and states across the Midwest and guided stakeholders to improve their services.

Jamie Dorsey

Senior Consultant

Jamie Dorsey is a skilled researcher who is dedicated to reducing health disparities through access to health and human services among vulnerable populations, both domestically and abroad. Jamie brings a decade of professional experience and advanced analytic skills in quantitative methods and rigorous research design. Since joining RDA, Ms. Dorsey has applied her analytic skills and research methodology to RDA’s extensive work conducting system assessments and process and outcome evaluations of health and behavioral health programs. Prior to RDA, Ms. Dorsey worked on various public health research projects, including identifying the multi-level determinants of child undernutrition, as well as exploring the reach of natal care programs and their effectiveness in educating women on important health topics.

John Cervetto

Consulting Director

John Cervetto brings more than ten years of professional experience working in local government, nonprofit, and community-based settings, with a focus on systems change through collaboration and innovation. As a Director at RDA, John manages a multifaceted consulting team and portfolio of projects focused on human services, workforce development, adult education, and economic development. He specializes in coordinating stakeholders across systems for more effective service delivery, and excels in qualitative research, interviewing and group facilitation, program evaluations, and financial analysis and planning. John is a member of RDA’s Executive Team, contributing to organizational strategy, sustainability, and employee development. Prior to RDA, John worked in the child welfare and community healthcare systems including developing quality assurance processes for federally qualified health clinics and as a direct service provider at residential treatment facilities for emotionally disturbed children. Additionally, John is also a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer serving in the Kyrgyz Republic from 2007-2009 as a health promotion consultant to rural healthcare workers.

Kevin Wu

Consulting Director

Kevin Wu is a skilled researcher with deep experience in health care services evaluation and community-based public health interventions. He is passionate about improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations. He deeply values having meaningful and effective partnerships with clients, stakeholders, and teammates, and firmly believes that collaboration, understanding, and empathy are key to contributing toward impacts that can be felt broadly. At RDA, Kevin brings experience in multi-year longitudinal evaluations, health care integration evaluations, health education methods, and community-based participatory research methods. With extensive education and practice in applied social sciences, he brings expertise conducting quantitative and qualitative research and analysis methods. Prior to RDA, Mr. Wu evaluated the implementation of patient-centered medical homes in post-Katrina New Orleans. He also evaluated the integration of primary care and behavioral health services in a variety of settings, including clinics serving populations at-risk for or with HIV. Additionally, he explored the lay health adviser model for peer health education in rural African American churches using a community-based participatory research framework.

Kirsten White

Consultant

Kirsten White brings seven years of professional experience in policy analysis, public sector consulting, instructional practice, and curriculum development. Kirsten is a skilled researcher and facilitator who is passionate about using participatory program planning and evaluation tools to amplify the voices of consumers and better align public spending to the needs of community members. She brings expertise in facilitation, including differentiated instruction and training, as well as expertise in managing dynamic project areas, including strategic planning and agile project management. At RDA, Kirsten leads board development, program evaluation, and strategic planning efforts across the health and human services spectrum. Prior to RDA, she consulted on policy analysis projects for clients across the Bay Area, including Berkeley Mayor Jesse Arreguin, Oakland City Auditor Brenda Roberts, and the San Francisco Planning Department. As an educator in Washington, Arizona, and California, Kirsten taught students at all levels, from lower elementary to undergraduate students at the University of California, Berkeley. She has also trained education professionals in curriculum design, differentiated instruction, Kagan Cooperative Learning, and Whole Brain Teaching.

Lauren Broder

Consulting Manager

Dr. Lauren Broder is a seasoned researcher with 15 years of professional experience. Lauren is committed to using research and evaluation to elevate community needs and support and inform meaningful social change. She brings expertise in program evaluation, research and evaluation planning, quantitative and qualitative data analysis, presentation of data findings and evaluation strategies, education and youth development research, and grant writing. At RDA, she contributes this expertise to a variety of projects across the human services spectrum. Prior to joining RDA, Lauren served as the Director of Research and Evaluation at 826 National, a writing and education nonprofit aimed at amplifying youth voice in under-resourced communities. In this role, she led evaluations of five core youth programs staffed by a network of over 100 staff members and 20 board members in eight locations across the country. Throughout these evaluation efforts, Lauren successfully strengthened and advanced the metrics and tools in use while also helping to communicate data and results to nontechnical audiences.

Linda Hua

Talent and Operations Manager

Dr. Linda Hua is a lifelong learner with 14 years of professional experience dedicated to the professional development of individuals, teams, and organizations. At RDA, she promotes our core value of continuous learning through the design and implementation of our staff onboarding and development programs, championing staff engagement, diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, and streamlining our systems and processes. Linda also serves as a senior consultant on RDA client projects, lending her expertise on training, strategic planning, change management, and leadership development. She is a skilled public speaker and group facilitator who quickly builds rapport and trust with diverse audiences and drives them through participatory research and planning efforts. Prior to joining RDA, Linda was an operations specialist at a start-up marketing and design firm. In her tenure there, she provided technical training and created standard operating procedures for daily project management activities. Her contributions helped the company grow from an annual revenue of $300,000 to $9 million, becoming one of Inc. Magazine’s 100 fastest-growing businesses and one of Counselor’s best places to work.

Mark Haberman

Finance Analyst

Mark Haberman enjoys opportunities to solve complex problems with creative solutions. As RDA’s Finance Analyst, he coordinates financial activities and processes, handles payroll, and ensures fiscal compliance and sustainability. Mark began his career at RDA in 2011 as an Executive Assistant and then became the Operations Manager in 2014. Over the years, he has taken on a variety of different assignments including data collection, supporting the company’s hiring processes, submitting proposals, and most recently, being responsible for the firm’s finances. Prior to RDA, Mark worked in sales and marketing for the Merrimack Group, Human Resources consulting for HR Solutions, and was a field manager for the successful Re-Elect Joan Buchanan campaign of 2010.

Nancy Polio

Business Operations Analyst

Nancy Polio is a skilled project manager with 14 years of diverse experience working in the social justice and mental health care sectors. As Business Operations Analyst, Nancy manages RDA’s invoicing, subcontractor invoicing and payment, project and business opportunity setup, collections, and quality assurance activities. Prior to RDA, Nancy served as the Senior Operations Manager at Color of Change, a nonprofit civil rights advocacy organization dedicated to strengthening the voice of Black America and creating positive change around political and social issues that affect the Black community. In this role, Nancy managed the Operations and IT team across four national offices and coordinated high-level projects including IT enhancements for the organization. Previously, as a Project Manager for the Seneca Family of Agencies, Nancy improved the agency’s data collection and reporting efforts, assisted in the analytical evaluation of multiple mental health programs, coordinated the distribution and analysis of survey data, and produced funder-compliant outcome reports.

Neha Bangar is an evaluation specialist and social impact advocate with eight years of diverse experience in health, law, education, and international development. She is especially skilled in comprehensive research design, strategic solution finding, quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods, report writing, leadership, and teamwork. Neha is a skilled facilitator dedicated to engaging diverse stakeholders. She is passionate about asking and answering questions that help organizations see how their objectives help achieve their desired impact. At RDA, Neha contributes her research and evaluation expertise to a variety of health and human services projects for County, City, and nonprofit clients. Prior to RDA, Neha held a variety of positions in Canada, including Policy Analyst for the Ministry of Health and Researcher for the University of British Columbia’s eHealth Strategy Office.

Nicole Gamache-Kocol

Senior Consultant

Nicole Gamache-Kocol is a behavioral health professional with more than 15 years of professional experience who is passionate about improving access to care for individuals and communities who have been historically disadvantaged by systemic racism, sexism, and other forms of inequity and oppression. Her experience as a direct service provider to people experiencing a combination of homelessness, substance use, mental health challenges, and complex chronic medical conditions informs her approach to social change. She believes that by building and strengthening cross-sector partnerships we can begin to address health disparities and gaps in care. Nicole is a skilled facilitator who values collaboration and curiosity while centering the voices and experiences of people served by government agencies, community-based organizations, and health and human service systems. At RDA, Nicole provides organizational development, technical assistance, program planning and evaluation, and quality improvement support to organizations using a trauma-informed and strengths-based lens. She believes that access to care can be improved with targeted needs assessment, innovative program development, guided implementation, and data-driven evaluation. She understands that flexibility and adaptability are critical to the success of innovations in health and human service systems. Nicole’s experience includes having managed the research and training division of the Felton Institute, focusing on the implementation of evidence-based practices in community-based organizations and county behavioral health departments across the state of California.

Patricia Marrone Bennett

Chief Executive Officer

Dr. Patricia Marrone Bennett brings more than 35 years of experience advising and leading nonprofit and public organizations. She believes that government, when partnered with consumers and community-based organizations, can solve complex societal problems and improve the quality of life of individuals, families, and the communities in which they live. As RDA’s President and CEO, Patricia champions the use of evidence-based practices and insists on data-driven planning and decision making to understand, evaluate, and improve systems that serve vulnerable populations. Throughout her tenure at RDA, Patricia has supported a number of innovative efforts across a wide range of human service domains, including projects centered on organizational development, strategic planning, research, and evaluation.  Prior to RDA, Patricia launched numerous efforts to improve systems and practices in government and nonprofit organizations including utilizing and sharing data, leadership development, organizational change management, revenue enhancement, and consumer-driven planning processes. Stemming from her days as a lobbyist for the Quaker-sponsored Friends Committee on Legislation, Patricia maintains a passion for justice reform, behavioral health issues, and supports for foster care youth. She led an effort that established the first program of its kind for incarcerated pregnant teens and their infant children and was the first alternative to incarceration for the California Youth Authority. She also served as the Executive Director of several nonprofit organizations that provided behavioral health, case management, and homeless services. Patricia is a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach and is a past President of Mental Health America of California.

Ray Christensen

Business Analyst

As IT Business Analyst, Ray Christensen is responsible for creating and running reports tracking the profitability and productivity of RDA’s projects and staff. Prior to RDA, Ray worked in IT for the Oakland Unified School District. Previously, he has been a music educator and worked in music retail. Ray is still an active musician, and an active and passionate contributor in the Bay Area arts community. He has found his commitment to learning, growth, and greater understanding continually aligning with RDA’s work and mission.

Sarah Ferrell is a Master of Public Health and Master of Social Welfare candidate at the University of California, Berkeley who is committed to promoting community-level wellbeing through authentic co-creation of health programming and resource allocation. Stephanie Bimar is a data-driven professional with seven years of experience as a research and evaluation consultant. She is passionate about leveraging evaluation and measurement to improve public services, especially those serving children, youth, and their families. As a trained evaluator at RDA, Steph has designed, led, and managed mixed-methods evaluations for clients across the state spanning the fields of education, health, and social services. Steph is skilled in data visualization, participatory facilitation methods, and creating collaborative relationships with stakeholders to help answer their critical questions and make meaning of their data and experiences. Prior to joining RDA, Steph was a Senior Research Associate at a consultancy where she led a variety of evaluation projects, including an evaluation of the Museum of the African Diaspora’s MoAD in the Classroom program, an evaluation of West Contra Costa Unified School Districts Expanded Learning Programs, and an evaluation of Tipping Point Community’s Emerging Leaders Fellowship.
