Evaluation of the Bay Area Air District’s (BAAD) James Cary Smith (JCS) Community Grant Program
May 4, 2026
We are excited to share highlights from our three-year evaluation of the Bay Area Air District’s (BAAD) James Cary Smith (JCS) Community Grant Program where we employed ripple effect mapping – a versatile participatory evaluation tool!
RDA facilitated three, half-day workshops with staff and community members from 20 grantee organizations, including youth and monolingual Spanish-speakers, to identify outcomes that otherwise could be overlooked in more traditional evaluation methods. Gratitude to all who participated and shared their expertise with us!
We invite you to play around with our interactive visualization of the rippling effects of the JCS program and read about the synthesized themes for each impact area. Be sure to check out the spotlights of the amazing Environmental Justice grantees!
