🎉 Shoutout to our evaluation partner Gabriele Fain at the American Institutes for Research (AIR) for presenting the Oakland Children’s Initiative (OCI) process study results at the April 2026 OCI Commission meeting at Oakland City Hall last week.
As an Oakland based firm, RDA Consulting, SPC‘s Health & Human Services team was thrilled to contribute to this evaluation by facilitating in-person (and virtual) focus groups and interviews in our own backyard and analyzing results to lift up the lived experiences of Oakland students, families, and OCI partner organizations.
What have we learned? 👀After just three years, OCI — a voter-approved initiative — is already making real strides in early childhood education and college access for Oakland’s kids and families. 🌱🎓 Integration across the initiative and community awareness remain areas to grow, but the foundation is strong.
We look forward to seeing what the next phase of this initiative brings!
